Kayla took 5th in the long jump in a state-qualifying 15′ 6 3/4″ Wednesday at the Reggie Lewis Center. She hit a PR 10.19 for 20th in hurdles despite hitting hurdle 3 and loosing momentum. These marks both achieve varsity letter standard as well.

She will be seeded ~7th going into Saturday’s Red Auerbach Freshman/sophomore meet.

Kayla ran in her first track meet of the season and won the 55mm HH JV heat in a personal best 10.23.

Newton North is part of the 12 school Bay State conference and the whole conference competes every Thursday in a set of simultaneous dual meets. Kayla placed 14th out of 61 hurdlers competing. From the other 11 schools, only 9 girls ran faster. The other 4 came from Newton North.
