Kayla enters the Work Force

Last week Kayla interviewed and tested for a job in the Aquatics department at the YMCA and also for a life guard position with Newton Park and Rec. She got offers for both!

She is going to take the YMCA job and teach a small swim class, life guard, and help coach the Blue Waves (her original swim team). Her hard work getting getting certified in CPR/first Aid and Life guarding during her time at camp last year paid off. She also got three very good references which the Y checked the day after she applied. Go Kayla!

  1. Kayla, you had goals, worked, stayed determined and here you are, at a new frontier! So pleased and proud of you, and that would be – always. Congratulations, Love Gram

  3. What can we say — Kayla rocks… With 2/3 of teens being unemployed right now, this is incredible. And she did it all herself, from getting certifications to training hard to performing well in the interviews to earning those excellent references.

    Congratulations!

So glad you aren’t in the sun.
