Newton Bays Soccer drops Framingham; falls to Winchester

Jared’s team had a double header today, playing a make-up in Framingham in the morning and then travelling to Winchester in the afternoon (photos of Jared, Photos of rest of team)

Framingham went out ahead 0-2 in the 1st half but Newton answered with 2 goals in 30 seconds from Jared and Daniel (photo sequence of 1st goal) to even the score.

Starting the day dry and not too cold:

Jared scored a 2nd goal (photo sequence) in 2nd half placing the ball over the goalie and under the cross bar (see photo below) and Newton powered home to a 5-2 win.

The temperature dropped to a near freezing 36F for the windy and rainy afternoon in Winchester. Newton held Winchester to 0-0 in first half, but let up two goals in 2nd half to lose 0-2. This was about as adverse playing conditions as I’ve ever seen, but the kids gutted it out. They played much closer to Winchester than in their previous 0-4 loss in earlier match up.
