Prior family scrap book
Newton defeated Bay State league rival Weymouth 74-62 on a rainy and very cold (42 deg F) Tuesday afternoon (photos). Kayla got tossed into the 100m at the last minute and finished 4th. She defeating all of Weymouth’s 14 entries except team captain Jill Glover.
Jared’s basketball team went 14-0, winning the regular season (photos) title and taking the playoff championship Saturday (photos). They won 55-46 after being up 20-8 at the quarter, 30-16 at the half, and 43-26 after 3 quarters. Jared has been on the winning playoff team for 3 of the past 4 years now. I don’t think any player has 2 titles in that time span.

Jared had his first outdoor soccer games since early September in the Seacoast tournament in Epping, NH (photos of Jared, photos of rest of team). The team dropped their first two games 0-2, 0-6, but won this morning 5-0. Dad enjoyed the return to outdoor lighting and low iso shots!

Rebecca submitted art work from her first and only art course at Mt. Holyoke for consideration for inclusion at the Arches Student Print Exhibition at the Damfort Museum of Art in Framingham. Not only did they accept one of her pieces for the exhibit that opened today, it was one of the few selected from the 227 pieces submitted by students at 20 colleges (including several prestigious art schools) to receive Juror’s Commendation! Kayla delivered her 2nd best indoor high school long jump (15’11.25″) to improve 10 slots from her 27th seed to place 17th in today’s Massachusetts State Open Championships. This meet brought together all the top jumpers from across the state. As expected based on seeds coming in, Newton North was runner up in the team competition behind Mansfield 38-29 (results, photos, MileSplit Story, Boston Herald, Boston Globe, Newton track blog, Newton Patch article, milesplit photos, newton tab photos).
