Le Poète (The Poet)

Kayla made the mistake of sending me some French homework to print out for her this morning.  We’re not allowed to put stuff on our fridge, so I figure “school.priorfamily.org” is next best thing!

The rough English translation (according to google):

SUMMER WAVES

The warmth of the sun

Beating on the sand

There is a green lemonade

On my desk

Swimmers are

In the blue sea

Carefree

The waves are very large

They rise

And they fall

As the walls of evolving

They roll under the summer sun.

Go Kayla!

The Rent-a-Gampy Gene

Our 123 year old sewer line needed replacement a few weeks ago, which left a portion of our bring walkway dug up and piled to the side (gallery link: https://www.smugmug.com/gallery/n-gZjkB/)

Jared decided rather than convalese watching TV this weekend he’d put himself to work and earn some cash taking on the project of putting the walkway back together:

Newton tops Wellesley – Kayla sprints to 50 free personal best

Newton move to 2-0 with a 95-91 win over Wellesley Friday in their first meet in the new Newton North pool. Kayla, coming off a weekend strep throat infection, swam the fastest 50 yard freestyle of her career. She placed 3rd with a 27.83 automatic time. She also placed 5th in 100fr (1:04.83) and 2nd in 4×100 free relay. Here 4x200fr relay was DQed due to 1st swimmer going 100yards instead of 50. She contributed 4 individual points and 4 relay points to the team’s big win.

By comparison, Newton lost the same meet last year 92-94. She swam a 28.49 PR in the 50fr and a 1:06.44 PR in the 100fr in that meet.
