Prior family scrap book
Jared had two MPS soccer games this past weekend. They dropped both games, but Jared impressed his new coach with his intensity in the first game (referring to him as mvp) and played him for all of both games. The 1st game was in Hopkinton so it made for a convenient marathon course dry run as well. Jared has a bit shin splints from track distance running now so he’s resting this week.

Kayla took 2nd in the triple jump and 3rd in the 100m as Newton defeated Wellesley 87-43 to put a likely lock on the Bay State league crown (photos, results, Newton Tab).
Joe, competing in just his 2nd marathon, finished the tough Boston course in 3:07:07, finishing 386th in his division. He improved 6 minutes from his 3:13 Tucson marathon qualifier. See this link for photos.

Kayla won the triple jump (in her first outing) and anchored the winning 4x100m to a win and the 3rd fasted time in the state (52.6) thus far. She also took 3rd in the LJ and the 100m hurdles (results). The team photographer had a meeting so couldn’t skip out of work to attend :-(.

Newton defeated Bay State league rival Weymouth 74-62 on a rainy and very cold (42 deg F) Tuesday afternoon (photos). Kayla got tossed into the 100m at the last minute and finished 4th. She defeating all of Weymouth’s 14 entries except team captain Jill Glover.
Jared’s basketball team went 14-0, winning the regular season (photos) title and taking the playoff championship Saturday (photos). They won 55-46 after being up 20-8 at the quarter, 30-16 at the half, and 43-26 after 3 quarters. Jared has been on the winning playoff team for 3 of the past 4 years now. I don’t think any player has 2 titles in that time span.
